It is no secret that I’m a total sucker for good beauty bargains, I’m also a HUGE fan of brands that I can snag at the grocery store while my son is happily entertaining himself in a cozy coupe that is attached to the grocery cart (MAJOR win with the mommy crowd Kroger!). Last Sunday I went on a little CoverGirl shopping spree at my local Kroger and here is what I picked up for the grand total of about $34:
CoverGirl & Olay Simply Ageless Serum Primer ~ Primer is a necessity for any foundation-wearing women. It helps create a canvas that fills in fine lines/imperfections thus making the surface of your skin appear even more perfect than it already is :). Non-pore clogging and oil free–thumbs up!
Outlast Lipstain ~ I’m a huge fan of lipstains and was looking forward to trying this one because it won an O magazine’s O-ward for Most Enduring Performance. I love the way the color [440 Wild Berry Wink] pops out on my lips, lasts for many many hours, and doesn’t look or feel dry on my lips (it also didn’t get all weird when I applied lipgloss on top of it like I’ve experienced with other brands).
SmokyShadowBlast ~ This awesomely-packaged shadow (that totally doesn’t look like eyeshadow, more like double ended lipstick) is a fun and easy way to create a smoky-looking eye in a hurry. I got the Bronze Fire 815 color and have used it daily since I purchased it. The color is beautiful and blends wonderfully on my lids. It totally makes me feel like a make-up pro (which I SO am not).
Liquiline Blast Eyeliner ~ I bought the Violet Voltage 440 and have yet to master the smudging tool without erasing it almost completely but I dig the concept and the color of this dual-ended lip-lining tool. [As I type this, I’m playing with it on my hand and it takes a few pencil swipes to get that dark smoky/smudged look….so hopefully that technique will work on my eyes as well. ;)]
Wetslicks Lipgloss ~ I already use Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers Lipgloss on a daily basis (I have for over a year) and this looked like a more “grown-up” version of the gloss and so I decided to veer from norm and try it in Sugar Maple 320. It’s got a very light feeling to it for a gloss and it isn’t super glossy/shiny/sticky like a lot of glosses I’ve tried. It’s a total winner and about time for me (and my gloss) to grow up.
Not bad for $34 (after Kroger Reward Cardholder savings) huh?!
Thank you to Kroger and CoverGirl for sponsoring this review. I am making no claims about the products, just expressing my thoughtful opinion. Clever Girls Collective supports Blog With Integrity.
