What I Wore: Shining in the New Year #ootd

I wanted my first outfit post of the year to truly set the tone for the year ahead.  Not only is it the New Year but it’s MY New Year having turned 32 a few weeks ago on December 18th, 2014.

In honor of my birthday (and because I’m a PRO member), Rent The Runway sent me a $50 credit which I immediately spent to obtain this little number for 4 days.  In case you are unfamiliar with RTR–see my previous posts here and here.

Here is what I wore to go on a special celebratory date last Saturday in honor of my husband’s 40th (my birthday is a week before Christmas, his is a week after).

I had no idea exactly how figure flattering this dress would be (although RTR reviewers tipped me off).  I didn’t even need Spanx despite a few too many beignets in New Orleans over Christmas break.

Sorry about my clenched fist–it was 28° outside but I was committed to doing this dress justice in natural light.

  1. Wow, you look absolutely amazing in that dress! It’s a shame you can’t keep it. lol! The Rent the Runway idea is great tho because I tend to only wear a fancy dress once or twice anyway.

  2. Please, I need details on the hair. It looks georgous on you. Why don’t you want to wear it everyday. The dress fits perfectly as well.
