A little over a week ago, I physically arrived home from an incredibly soul-nourishing retreat/conference in Costa Rica–mentally I’m still there somewhat. While I’m working on processing that experience (and editing video), I’ll show you gals what I wore….sort of. I was more focused on Pura Vida than being a fashion blogger so the pictures that I have of my outfits were all taken by iPhone.
There won’t be links to most of what I wore because I didn’t shop for this vacation and have owned most of these clothes for years. Hopefully it can serve as inspiration and if you have questions about anything or want me to elaborate, let me know. I’m freshly schooled on tropical beach vacation outfit planning.
This picture was taken at 4:38am at DFW airport by my father (on my way to Costa Rica, I spent the night in Dallas). The necklace was made by my sister, she makes them as a hobby and I can hook you up with her if you’d like one of your own. I’d also like to give credit where credit is due and the purple fitbit flex bracelet I’m wearing is responsible for motivating me to consistently get active so that I could look the way I do in the bikini shots below (friend me on fitbit).
I have wanted a fringe bathing suit top for over 2 years–I can now cross that off my fashion bucket list (it was a daily deal from Groopdealz–one of my fave places for boutique daily deals). FUN FACT: my “cover up” is a robe that I found at Goodwill a million years ago and this outfit was inspired by this beach outfit that Jessica Alba wore.
I’m in between the pool and the beach at Westin Playa Conchal Golf Resort & Spa.
NOTE: Danielle photobombed me.
This photo of Ana, me, Jill, Christine, and Melissa was taken by Nadia on one of our morning beach walks on Playa Conchal. I was going for the boho beach vibe in my off-the-shoulder intentionally-ratty-looking-Free-People shirt, cut-off jorts, fedora, and Stella & Dot Engravable Bar necklace (that says “Be Love”….I’d now like another that says “Pura Vida”).
I barely have any pictures of my night time outfits because the sun goes down in Costa Rica at 5:30 which makes for unfortunate lighting issues…
With the savvy and sassiest lady I know, Miss Costa Rica herself, Andrea Fellman.
The stuffed monkey I’m holding is Bananas. He’s my oldest son’s lovey and he accompanied me on my trip.
A Michael Kors bikini that is older than my oldest son. It’s a classic and so is my gorgeous Romy. We are about to go snorkeling off of this Marlin Del Rey catamaran.
Another morning beach walk (I’m wearing my cut-off jorts under this too-short dress).
A mini caftan dress in the restroom at The Green House Restaurant at Las Catalinas.
This is right before Lora and I headed to the airport. The Costa Rican version of this outfit.
Goodbye Costa Rica! Pura Vida!!!
Linking up with What I Wore Wednesday.
