What I Wore: Statement Sweater Weather

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and People StyleWatch and InStyle magazines but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #PeopleInStyle http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO

Glossy fashion magazines have been providing me with style inspiration for as long as I can remember.  In my teenage years, I’d create notebooks full of inspirational collages clipped from my favorite magazines.  Now, in my thirties, I use sticky notepaper to jot down notes on the latest fashion and beauty trends when I have a few free minutes.

On Sunday, I picked up the December 2013 issues of People StyleWatch and InStyle magazines and received a $5 Target gift card for purchasing both together (this promotion started on 11/24 and ends 12/7).

I study style magazines like I used to study college textbooks for new, updated ways to translate fashion trends into functional style in my life as a mostly at-home mom.

The trends that really spoke to me were holiday bling, layers, and statement sweaters.

Eye-catching accessories and complimentary makeup pulled the whole look together.

Just like that, I feel ready to style my holiday/fall/winter looks or at least have fun trying to in my closet!

A little inspiration goes a LONG way and if you head over to Target and purchase both People StyleWatch + InStyle, you can get a $5 gift card and have a little magazine inspiration party of your own!
