I’m not sure that I’ve ever written a proper love letter in my whole life but I feel compelled to write one to the automobile that acted as my penthouse/babysitter/personal assistant for a few weeks this summer.
To my beloved 2012 Chrysler Town & Country Minivan,
When I first laid eyes on you, I wasn’t sure exactly how our relationship would work out because I was more focused on our differences than our “alikes”. I didn’t think that I was the type of women who should really drive you. I am now so thankful that I was open to your seductive functionality and luxurious features.
You took care of my family and I in a way that I wasn’t even aware that a vehicle was capable of. Part of me had been afraid of opening myself up to your experience because I knew that my expectations would be forever changed (and they are). You were our home away from home, our apartment penthouse on wheels. I’ll never forget how well you kept the kids entertained while you navigated me through traffic. It was so thoughtful of you to monitor my blindspots and automatically adjust the lights so that I could focus on the road ahead. I’ve never had so much peace of mind (and peace in general) while driving, an activity I’d normally describe as somewhat stressful. I actually found myself looking forward to and making excuses just to drive you.
Your gorgeous, spacious, customizable interior was always ready and willing to conform to our needs. I especially loved the way you held me in the driver’s seat and supported my back while we cruised here and there. You took such good care of us. I know I’m not capable of describing in words what it felt like experience your comfort, beauty, luxury, guidance, protection, and smooth ride. Just know how grateful I am that you made traveling as a family simple and joyful. You did part of my job for me and freed up some brain cells/heart space so I could enjoy the ride as well.
I’ll miss you.
xoxo,
Valerie
Disclosure: I was loaned this swanky minivan to test drive as part of a sponsorship with Chrysler. All opinions are my own.
