What I Wore: Colorblocking Casual & Preppy Chic

Today I got dressed not once but TWICE.  The first time was to take my son to school and the second time was for a press junket that I can’t wait to post about (but I have to).  Anywhoozle…let’s talk about the second outfit first–the “I’m going to interview the cast of The Hunger Games” outfit

  It’s a preppy sort of look and I am so proud of myself for FINALLY wearing that Lacoste blazer.  It’s older than my son, I had it tailored to fit me, and have only worn it once.  I’ve always loved it, just never really knew how to wear it and still look like myself.  I think I’ve figured it out though!

Under the Lacoste blazer is a nursing tank, the button down is Zac Posen for Target (from my very first fashion haul), skinny yellow belt (learn my trick for keeping it in place below), jeggings, over the knee boots, Kate Spade bracelet, and diaper bag c/o kokopax.

My nails are hot pink and my baby is still ridiculously cute.  I plan to wear this blazer like crazy until it gets too hot around here, I want to wear it with a dress, kelly green shorts, and white pants (separately).

My second outfit was what I threw on this morning to take my oldest to preschool.  The colors all clash but work together really well (is that considered colorblocking?).

That maroon jacket was actually bought at a Dollar General (or Family Dollar) store in East Texas when my family was camping at Dinosaur Valley State Park and a cold front came through.

Anyhow, I’m super proud of myself.  It feels great to kinda get my style groove back, yet again.
