On Monday, I was invited to experience the newly-renovated AMC Dine-In Theatre in Grapevine a few days before their opening. I have been visiting AMC 30 since it opened (when
I was in high school–it was my local theatre) and I was very impressed to see AMC 30 after it’s little [BIG] makeover. It looks more like something you’d see uptown with it’s full bar and stylish decor. There are a few theatre options depending on what kind of experience you’re interested in and we enjoyed the Cinema Suites experience.
Cinema Suites is the more luxurious and exclusive of the dine-in options with his 48 leather fully-reclining chairs, 21+ age restriction, exclusive menu options, and spaciousness (9 ft between each row). I loved the “cuddle factor” of these seats because the chairs are in pairs and the center armrest can be moved back. The accommodations are top-notch–worthy of the hype, but what about the food?
I started off with a Pomegranate Martini that was perfect in every way (hubs had a Grey Goose Martini) and we shared appetizers. The chips and queso were average and the calamari was exceptional (fresh-tasting, crisp, not rubbery, totally addicting). It did feel pleasantly strange to be eating such good calamari and a martini in a movie theater I also had a Mango Margarita that was good. For dinner, I really really wanted to try the Prime Rib sandwich but since they were out of that, I had the Brisket Quesadillas (which were AWESOME!). Next time I go, I will be perplexed about what to order because I fell in love with those awesome quesadillas but I still need to try the Prime Rib sandwich. The Smoked Salmon BLT sounds really good as well…
Smoked Salmon BLT Hot smoky salmon paired with hickory bacon, crisp lettuce and sliced tomatoes on our kaiser roll. Dressed with garlic basil aioli and served with potato chips. 10.99
The prices are comparable to Chili’s but you don’t have to rush dinner to make it to your movie on time.
The Dine-In experience is a true experience and worthy of your babysitter and date night. I did almost fall asleep after those drinks, yummy food, and big comfy chairs though. Another thing I like is MacGuffins, it’s a bar/lounge where you can hang out before or after the movie (my husband was tempted to skip the movie in favor of watching a football game there).
I take my date nights seriously. Dates should be SPECIAL and this was special.
