Self-Styling TIP: Be Inspired! (vlog)

One of the most exhilarating experiences in the Art of Self-Styling is to create something new from what you already have.  Sometimes it’s hard to “think outside of the box” outfit-wise because we become set in our ways and are used to wearing our clothes the way we intend them to be worn.

If you’re like me, you see people wearing great outfits all the time but rarely take action outside of thinking “that’s cute!”.  Here are a few tips to help you in your self styling adventures.

1. Aim to re-create, not replicate–you have to make it your own.

2. Take from it what you like, ditch the rest.

3. Flatter your body (I’m a pear shape and chose to wear dark on bottom, the skinny yellow belt is small in proportion and balances my dangerous curves ;) , the top is dimensional and has texture to also help balance it).

4. Compliment your lifestyle- it’s hot as HECK in Texas, so I chose to wear shorts instead of a long skirt and my hair is up.

I bought the (insanely inexpensive) accessories at XXI but never posted the video.
