So many times in my people watching do I think “What a GREAT color combination! How did they think of that?!”
I’m not an artist and I’ve not a darn clue what to do with a color wheel BUT I know what looks good and I’ve been looking for a formula to create great color palettes for myself.
The outfit you see to the right was a copied combo I saw somewhere on someone and it totally transformed this simple black dress into something new for me.
You can trick out just about anything in your closet if you know what you’re doing and that, dear readers, is what I’d like to help you (and myself) with.
Let me introduce you to COLOURlovers, a virtual color palette playground that will overwhelm you with inspiration.
1. LOOK at the pretty colors.
2. PRINT the palettes you like.
3. STYLE – go into your closet, take inventory, and buy supplemental accessories if needed.
There are tools on the site to help you pull colors from whatever may inspire you.
Also see the Pantone Spring/Summer 2010 Color Report (print it out and take it with you
).
You also NEED to see this blog:
I’m really looking forward to the possibilities for myself and I would REALLY really love if you’d share some palettes that inspire you and maybe even send pictures of your outfits (even just the clothes laid out on the floor if you want). Comment, post on the fanpage, email me at info(at)CharmedValerie(dot) com. I can’t wait to hear see what you’re thinking ![]()
