One of the hottest trends for Fall 2010 is…
lace
I absolutely adore lace because it is so dainty, girly, elegant and romantic *swoon* BUT
how is a mom to pull it off at preschool drop-off without looking like a doilie (or worse ifyouknowwhatimean
)?
The good folks at Glamour are on top of this with this piece on What To Wear With A Lace Tee.
Remember to
- keep it simple
- keep it chic
- go for a consistent romantic vibe
- or switch it up by adding military or menswear pieces
- take it the vintage route
You can also…
- wear a lace piece with loungewear for a comfortable glamorous look
- add a lace scarf around the waist of plain tank, dress, or button down shirt (you could even just get some lace from the craft store)
- tie some lace around your ponytail, bun, wrist, or around the brim of a hat
- the options are endless so think outside the box!!!
Take care of your lace and stick it in a lingerie bag when laundering in the machine.
I recently bought this h.i.p peekaboo lace tank at Nordstrom’s and I like to dress it up with my favorite flower pin or throw a cardigan over it (and then plant my flower pin on it).
As always, Nordies has a wonderful assortment of lace goodness (I love it when stores make it easy on us by grouping trend pieces).
And….I pulled together my favorite (under $25) lace pieces, Charlotte Russe has got the best under $25 selection IMO. Click any piece to take you to it’s retailer.

- Sally McGraw show us the benefits of belting
I have recently fallen in love with belting and all of the wonderful ways it can transform your look.
Then I recently saw this incredibly informative post by Sally McGraw of Already Pretty about What Belting Can Do For You.
Seeing her working those wrap belts made me really
REALLY
lusty for one and so (as always) I turned to my fashion search engine found exactly what I was looking for (yay!).
Here they are (please don’t bum rush Asos because I haven’t placed my order yet!)

Blue is the new red shoe.
Lately, I have been seeing blue shoes everywhere, like they’re stalking me and begging me to add some Oomph to my footwear (which sadly lacks much color). I’m ready to take the plunge and am fully prepared to take you with me

- Lauren Conrad is rocking the blue shoes….can you?
Do’s and Don’ts of blue shoe wearing:
DO make them your WOW piece, which is the focal point of your outfit. Keep it simple and make all other articles of clothing take the back seat.
DON’T go crazy and wear the rainbow. Sure, your kids may enjoy Mommy-the-walking-rainbow but your outfit just might say more than you want it to.
DO wear them with dark grays, white, and black for a chic elegant look.
DO incorporate various shades of blue for a monochromatic look. Just be careful and use discretion because it could easily turn into a DON’T situation.

- Try different shades of blue for a nice monochromatic look.
Here are some of my favorites under $50.
